GOD’S WORD FOR SEPTEMBER 10
SEPTEMBER 10
OUR PERSONAL PROMISES
Ps 89:1-2 & 33-34
“I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever;
With my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to all generations.
For I have said, “Mercy shall be built up forever;
Your faithfulness You shall establish in the very heavens.
Nevertheless My lovingkindness I will not utterly take from him,
Nor allow My faithfulness to fail.
My covenant I will not break,
Nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips.”
Isaiah 54:5
“For your Maker is your husband,
The Lord of hosts is His name;
And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel;
He is called the God of the whole earth.”
Psalm 147:3
“He heals the brokenhearted
And binds up their wounds.”
Psalm 121:3-4
“He will not allow your foot to be moved;
He who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, He who keeps Israel
Shall neither slumber nor sleep.”
(Israel’s blessings are ours through Jesus)

This month we will read choices from Charles Spurgeon’s (known affectionately as the “prince of preachers”) devotional, “Beside Still Waters.” It’s no secret that this world system is getting more evil by the day. We have to stand strong in the Lord and look to Him more than ever to get through, and to be guided through, what is in the future……..known and allowed by Him alone…..as well as whatever personal things we are experiencing in our lives.
God loves His people. If you are a believer in Christ Jesus, trusting only in His merits, God loves you as surely as He is God. There is no question about the matter. His divine love is yours as certainly as His power is displayed in creation.
Set God’s lovingkindness before your eyes. Think of His faithfulness! God’s lovingkindness never pauses. It is as constant as the flight of time. Never a moment but there has been love for that moment. Never an hour but there has been that hour’s portion of lovingkindness.

You have often forgotten the Lord, but He has never forgotten you. You have failed ten thousand times, but He has never failed you. If He had dealt with you justly and not graciously, He would have long ago divorced you from His heart, but you are as precious to Him now as ever.
You will be precious to Him when heaven and earth pass away. So why not seek to serve Him constantly? Let every day have its duty, and let each day’s duty be your pleasure and privilege to serve Him. Do not receive without giving. God’s sovereign goodness comes without a pause. There are no miscarriages in divine grace. Never let any forgetfulness, negligence, or delay be in your gratitude or in the obedience that springs from it. In your health, in your sickness, in your wealth, in your poverty, in your joy, and in your sorrow, may your theme be God’s lovingkindness and helpfulness
