Psalm 17:6
“I have called upon You, for You will hear me, O God; Incline Your ear to me, and hear my speech.”

Psalm 91:1
“he who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”
This month we will read choices from Charles Spurgeon’s (known affectionately as the “prince of preachers”) devotional, “Beside Still Waters.” It’s no secret that this world system is getting more evil by the day. We have to stand strong in the Lord and look to Him more than ever to get through, and to be guided through, what is in the future……..known and allowed by Him alone…..as well as whatever personal things we are experiencing in our lives.
PASTOR SPURGEON:
Micah 7:7 “My God will hear me.”
Child of God, take this promise in your hand and into your heart. Use it like a wand; turn it whatever way you will, and it will clear your path. You are going to do a difficult thing, and your spirit sinks as you sigh, “Who is sufficient for this?” lift up your heart to God, My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9) God will hear you.
I will cry to Him and He will answer. He will call me with the sound of a trumpet, and I will live again. My God will hear me, world without end, as my entire being lifts up joy notes to Him who loved me and lifted me to His own right hand.
The future is hidden from us, yet here is a glass in which we may see the unborn years, for the Lord says, “From this day I will bless you.” (Haggai 2:19).
It is worth noting the day that is referred to in this promise. There had been failures of crops because of the people’s sin, but now the Lord saw these chastened ones beginning to obey His word. Therefore He says, “….from that day forward, I will bless you.”
If we lived in any sin and the Spirit leads us to purge ourselves of it, we may count on the blessing of the Lord.
His smile, His Spirit, His Grace, and His fuller revelation of His truth will prove an enlarged blessing. We may fall into greater opposition from man because of our faithfulness, but we will rise to closer dealings with the Lord our God and the clearer sight of our acceptance on Him.
Lord, I am resolved to be more true to You, more exact in following Your doctrine and Your precept. I ask You, by Christ Jesus, to increase the blessedness of my daily life from this moment forward and forever. Amen
