GOD’S WORD FOR NOVEMBER 5

NOVEMBER 5

OUR PERSONAL PROMISES

Psalm 96:11-13

“Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad;  let the sea roar, and all its fullness;

Let the field be joyful, and all that is in it.  Then all the trees of the woods will rejoice  before the Lord.

For He is coming, for He is coming to judge the earth.  He shall judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with His truth.”

Psalm 98:7-9

“Let the sea roar, and all its fullness,

The world and those who dwell in it;

Let the rivers clap their hands;

Let the hills be joyful together  before the Lord,

For He is coming to judge the earth.

 With righteousness He shall judge the world,

And the peoples with equity.”

Job 12:7

“But now ask the beasts, and they will teach you; And the birds of the air, and they will tell you;”

Ps 147:9

“He gives to the beast its food,  and to the young ravens that cry.”

Psalm 84:3

“Even the sparrow has found a home, And the swallow a nest for herself, Where she may lay her young— Even Your altars, O Lord of hosts, My King and my God.”

Luke 19:40

“But He answered and said to them, “I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out.”

Romans 8:22-23

“For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.  Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.”

This month we will read choices from Charles Spurgeon’s (known affectionately as the “prince of preachers”)  devotional, “Beside Still Waters.”   It’s no secret that this world system is getting more evil by the day.  We have to stand strong in the Lord and look to Him more than ever to get through, and to be guided through, what is in the future……..known and allowed  by Him alone…..as well as whatever personal things we are experiencing in our lives.

PASTOR SPURGEON:

The providence of God is not only concerned with wars between mighty empires; it also comprehends everything else.  The blooming of every daisy is arranged by eternal purposes.  A frog croaking in the marsh or a leaf falling from an oak tree is part of eternal wisdom’s plan.  The migration of each swallow is as arranged as Columbus’s voyage.  The breaking of a fowler’s net is as ordained as a nation’s emancipation.

God ordains all things.  Not one sparrow falls to the ground apart from His will.  Even the hairs of your head are all numbered  (Matthew 10:29-30).  God surrounds these little things.  He makes them part of His eternal purpose, and He takes part in them.

David thought, “When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained, what is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that you visit him?” (Psalm 8:3-4).

In all your grief, Jesus has deep sympathy.  In the night, He sees your weakness and sleeplessness.  When everyone leaves,  He is still with you, even making your bed in sickness.

Never say that God is so busy with heaven’s glories and the world’s management that He forgets you!  Far from it!  “As a father pities his children, so the Lord pities those who fear Him.  For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust.”  (Psalm 103:13-14).

Depend on it.

The great God is too almighty to forget one of His children!  (Isaiah 9:15).
