GOD’S WORD FOR NOVEMBER 18
NOVEMBER 18
OUR PERSONAL PROMISES
Psalm 8:3-5
“When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,
The moon and the stars, which You have ordained,
What is man that You are mindful of him,
And the son of man that You visit him?
For You have made him a little lower than the angels,
And You have crowned him with glory and honor.”
1 Corinthians 8:6
“Yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist.”
Colossians 1:16
“For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.”
Job 12:7-10
“But ask the beasts, and they will teach you; the birds of the heavens, and they will tell you; or the bushes of the earth, and they will teach you; and the fish of the sea will declare to you. Who among all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In his hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind.”
Psalm 50:11
“I know all the birds of the hills, and all that moves in the field is mine.”
Psalm 36:6
“Your righteousness is like the mountains of God; your judgments are like the great deep; man and beast you save, O Lord.”
Isaiah 43:1 (the promises to Israel apply to the born again believer via the grafting in explained in Romans 11)
“But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine.”

This month we will read choices from Charles Spurgeon’s (known affectionately as the “prince of preachers”) devotional, “Beside Still Waters.” It’s no secret that this world system is getting more evil by the day. We have to stand strong in the Lord and look to Him more than ever to get through, and to be guided through, what is in the future……..known and allowed by Him alone…..as well as whatever personal things we are experiencing in our lives.

PASTOR SPURGEON:
God cares for all the work of His hands. Not even a sparrow falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will (Matthew 10:29). “Not one of them is forgotten before God.” (Luke 12:6). God cares for every fish in the sea. Even fish that dwell in black pools deep in the earth’s caverns, fish that never see light, are not forgotten by Him (Psalm 8:8).
There is a special fatherly consideration and pity that the Lord has for His children. What great care He gives them! No farmer cares as much for barn chickens as God does for His own little chicks.
“He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge.” (Psalm 91:4).
“As a father pities his children, so the Lord pities those who fear Him. For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are but dust.” (Psalm 103:13-14).
God gives liberally and without reproach (James 1:5). You who are God’s saints are first in the Almighty’s care. “I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinks upon me.” (Psalm 40:17), said David. It is worthwhile to be poor and needy if we have more of God’s thoughts set on us!

Oh sanctified one, see what a special position you occupy – not only in creation and in the covenant, but also in God’s tender care!
(Again, these promises are only for those who have given their lives to Him as Lord (Master) and Savior.)
