MARCH 10

OUR PERSONAL PROMISES

***** *****

John 15:5

“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”

John 14:1-4

“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.   In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.   And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.   And where I go you know, and the way you know.”

John 15:6

“If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.”

John 15:7

“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.”

John 6:56

Our book for this month  is called “100 NAMES OF GOD”  written by Christopher D. Hudson.  Each day we’ll take one Hebrew name for God as given in the Bible to study and relate to.

MAON

OUR DWELLING PLACE

Psalm 90:1

“Lord, MAON, You have been our dwelling place throughout all generations.”

“There’s no place like home,”  the old saying goes, and how true that is.  Whether it’s a cheap apartment or a mansion, if you’ve got a place where you can kick off your shoes and just be, a place where you are loved and safe and peaceful, you are beyond blessed.

Guess what? You DO have such a place.  The Bible says God is “our dwelling place.”  When Moses called God “our dwelling place,” he was saying we can dwell “in God.”

Jesus said it this way, “ABIDE IN ME.” (John 15:4) or “Make Me the place you live.”

God as our spiritual home —WHAT A THOUGHT! We can enjoy the safety of His walls, relish the warmth of His love, and experience the peace of His presence.  When we’re weary, we can find rest.  When we’ve been beat up by the world, we can find encouragement.  Making our home in God means that we will come to know Him in deep and life-changing ways.

Because God is our heart’s true home, we can realize the truth of another popular saying: “Home is where the heart is.”

How is God your dwelling place, the place where you can feel peace?

PRAYER

Lord Maon, You are my dwelling place, the only place I can find true rest, security and peace.  Thank you.  Please help me to live my life in You.  Amen
