We are reading a book by Corrie ten Boom, with daily recordings she made to broadcast over Trans World Radio. Her Dutch family sheltered Jews during the Nazi invasion of Holland. As a result, she, her sister Betsy and their father were taken to concentration camps in Germany. The Lord did many miracles to allow both Corrie and Betsy to bring the Gospel to the other women in their camp. Their father was murdered in an extermination camp and Betsy was sick, dying just two weeks before Corrie and the rest were freed. After her freedom, Corrie traveled the world, telling everyone even in remote areas, about salvation through Christ, besides radio and writing many books. This one is entitled, “Not I, but Christ.”

MANY RULES
In Genesis 24:10 we read:
“Then the servant took ten of his master’s camels and departed, for all his master’s goods were in his hand. And he arose and went to Mesopotamia, to the city of Nahor.”
The servant received an order from his master, Abraham, to look for a wife for Isaac. We also received a command from the Lord Jesus: “Go into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”(Mark 16:15)
“The gospel” means many riches of our Lord that we have to share. We all have to go where God sends us. Each Christian has a calling: you in your small corner; I in mine. There is a world to be saved. Do you love the Lord Jesus? Love and obedience belong together.
You have a task – fulfill it! You cannot? Neither can I. We have too little strength and too few riches of our own to share, but our Lord has riches, many, many riches. Therefore it is necessary that we study our handbook – the Bible. Withdraw everything you and others need. All God’s promises are yes and amen in Jesus. We have to share with many, and therefore, we need the many riches of the Lord.
“Be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might.” This is in Ephesians 6:10. If you know the Lord is your strength, the Lord says, “Go in this your strength.” That is what He said to Gideon. A branch of the vine bears fruit if it is connected with the vine. Likewise you and I must remain connected with the Source of strength, our Vine, Jesus.
I hope you who know you are Christians may clearly see how great a task and what great riches you have because you are children of God.
But this message is also for you who know you are NOT children of God. In God’s eyes your life is a wilderness, but you can become a garden of the Lord. What can you do? What must you do? Accept Jesus. We read in John 1:12, “As many as received Him, to them gave He the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe in His name.” And you have work to do, a task to fulfill. But remember, this cannot be a superficial belief that Jesus existed……no, it means totally trusting Him with your life, and submitting to His Lordship, obeying Him in love because He suffered and died so you could have a wonderful eternal life with Him.
In the Bible we can read of many riches of our Lord. Would you like to follow an intensive course? Then listen to the Master, teaching a very large group of His followers whom He sent out to become the light of the world. You can read all about it in Matthew Chapters 5,6, and 7. – the Sermon on the Mount.
But you must not only listen. “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock:” From submission comes obedience.
But the intensive course, the Sermon on the Mount is short. There is a complete manual which we must always study – the Bible. Perhaps you will say, “but I don’t understand the Bible.” No, we cannot understand it, not from ourselves, but the Lord promised in Acts 1:8:
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you;……”
The Holy Spirit gives you understanding and power and faith. He reveals many riches of our Lord to you. He will show you all you need to become a joyful, victorious child of God. Yes, you will experience what Acts 1:8 also says:
“and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
In Ephesians 1:3 Paul says:

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,”
AND this is NOW!! These are wonderful riches for NOW!
Just go on reading the first chapter of Ephesians. What a long list of riches! Yes, Jesus is our peace! Ask the Lord to cause your Bible reading by His Holy Spirit to make you see more and more of the great riches of our Lord, which you must distribute to the poor world around you.

Thank You, Lord Jesus, that all Your riches are constantly placed in our hands when we read the Bible. Please use us today that we may distribute them. Please make us real children of light, the salt of the earth. You caused Abraham’s servant to succeed so greatly. Please grant us also to experience continuously how wonderful it is to distribute Your riches, our faithful, loving Savior. Hallelujah! Amen
