GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 9
GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 9
We are reading from a daily devotional called “Running To Win” written by Erwin Lutzer and the late, great D.L. Moody. Erwin Lutzer is a light in our day as D.L. Moody was in his.

A HOLY WALK
Genesis 5:24
“Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him.”
And
Hebrews 11:5
“By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now, before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God.”
D.L. MOODY
A great deal is being said about holiness. Every true child of God desires to be holy as His Father in heaven is holy. Holiness is walking with God. Enoch had only one object. How simple life becomes when we have only one object to seek, one purpose to fulfill—to walk with God, to please God! It has been said that the utmost many Christians get to is that they are pardoned criminals. How short they fall of the joy and blessedness of walking with God!
ERWIN LUTZER
Moody is credited with saying, “This one thing I do and not these forty things I dabble in.” Like Enoch, walking with God should be our highest priority. To walk with God requires agreement. “Do two walk together, unless they have agreed to meet?” the prophet Amos asked in Amos 3:3.
Walking with someone means you have common interests and a shared destination. Walking with God also means that we “walk in the light, as He is in the light.” (1 John 1:7). Every hidden sin should be confessed and forsaken: our lives must be open to His leading.
You may be thinking, “Can we really know God, so that we might “walk” with Him?” the answer is YES! Through the Scriptures, we are introduced to His mercy, His salvation, and invited to walk each day in dependence and fellowship.
God has not turned His face from us; rather, His arms are outstretched toward us, inviting us to come into His presence through the blood of Christ.
PRAYER
Lord, I want to know You and be holy like You.

1 John 1:6
If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.

Jeremiah 6:16
Thus says the Lord:
“Stand in the ways and see,
And ask for the old paths, where the good way is,
And walk in it;
Then you will find rest for your souls.
But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’”

Isaiah 40:31
But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,

They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
