We are reading from a daily devotional called “Running To Win” written by Erwin Lutzer and the late, great D.L. Moody. Erwin Lutzer is a light in our day as D.L. Moody was in his.

THE NEW MIRROR
2 Corinthians 5:17
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away: behold, the new has come.”
D.L. MOODY
“That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” (John 3:6), and a man can soon tell whether he is born of the Spirit by the change in his life. The Spirit of Christ is a Spirit of love, joy, peace, humility, and meekness, and we can soon find out whether we have been born of that Spirit or not; we are not to be left in uncertainty.
ERWIN LUTZER
Moses was with God for forty days and forty nights. When he came down, his face was glowing. Don’t you think he was changed after being on the mountain in the presence of God? Did he come down from that mountain still loving sin? It’s hard to be in the presence of God and to remain unchanged, and certainly Moses spoke to God face to face. He was permanently changed by the encounter. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if you were Moses, to go into God’s presence and be transformed?
As Moody said, when we are in Christ (have believed that He suffered and died to pay the total payment for our sins and was risen again), then we are a new creation. We love what we once hated and hate what we once loved. The privilege that God gave Moses is open to everybody for the same transformation and for perhaps even a deeper one. We all have the opportunity to see God. Jesus said, “Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.” (John 14:9). We behold Him, and then we reflect Him in our lives. The bottom line is this:
What we gaze at is what we become.
PRAYER
“Father, please let me gaze upon and reflect Your Son, and rejoice that the “new” has come!

In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

Colossians 1:13- 16
He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.

Ephesians 2:10
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
