GOD’S WORD FOR MARCH 10
GOD’S WORD FOR MARCH 10
We are reading from a daily devotional called “Running To Win” written by Erwin Lutzer and the late, great D.L. Moody. Erwin Lutzer is a light in our day as D.L. Moody was in his. Besides his many ministries, and many books, Pastor Lutzer was Senior Pastor at Moody Church in Chicago for 36 years and now serves as Pastor Emeritus there. He is Chancelor and a former professor at Moody Bible Institute, where he taught Theology and Ministry, and now has numerous radio teachings.
AN EVERLASTING HARVEST
1 Peter 1:23
“having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,”
D.L. MOODY
We hear nowadays so much about “culture.” Culture’s all right when you have something to cultivate. If I would plant a watch, I wouldn’t get any little watches, would I? Why? Because the seed of life is not there. But let me plant some peas or potatoes and I will get a crop
Don’t let any man or woman rest short of being born of the Spirit of God. Don’t cultivate a dead and corrupt thing. First, make sure that you have that divine nature, then cultivate it.
ERWIN LUTZER
Jesus taught that the true seed is the Word of God (Luke 8:11). The gospel of the kingdom Jesus proclaimed was breaking into Satan’s kingdom and rescuing people from his grip. Jesus told a parable where sometimes the seed of the Word fell on hard soil and took no root; at other times the seed was choked by the cares of this world. But then there was the good soil that brought forth fruit. In each case, the same seed was planted, but the condition of the soil determined whether it bore fruit. When the seeds bear fruit, they reproduce themselves. Why? It’s because within them is life, and within God’s Word there is life, and you and I can share that seed with others.
We sow by our witness, and when we sow the gospel in the lives of other people we are trusting and believing that God will breathe life into those who hear it. If we are believers, the gospel has been sown in our own hearts that we might bear fruit, and in turn we sow the imperishable seed in the lives of others.

Ephesians 6:14-16
Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
