EVE IN THE GARDEN
As Christians, we know the circle of sin and Grace. Adam and Eve sinned, which brought the Law, which ushered in Jesus Christ and Grace, when Gentiles who receive Jesus as Lord, are grafted in by the Grace of God to be the spiritual Chosen People of God and the Bride of Christ, and will live forever on the New Earth with Our Lord Jesus Christ.
In the description of the Temple of Ezekiel, at the end, when Jesus rules on the New Earth, it will be where the Garden of Eden was…..Things will have come full circle and we will be with Him as Adam and Eve were.
But, we’re not there yet, of course, and we, as His People, still must “endure to the end.”
When the devil was deceiving Eve, she added to what God said. In Genesis 3:3, she quoted God as saying, “But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, NEITHER SHALL YE TOUCH IT, lest ye die.” (emphasis mine).
But God really said, in Genesis 2:17…”.But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”
So, Eve made God’s command even stronger than He had made it. But, still, even in making it a stronger command, she still disobeyed it!!!
This is like some churches do now….adding their man-made laws—rituals, do’s and don’t’s, that aren’t in God’s Word, but, then, allowing blatant sin and sinful lifestyles and “politically correct” statements and ideas into their churches…They add to God’s law, then disobey it….just like Eve did. So, think about it….How did it work out for us when Eve did that? Not so good!!!
Well, The Word tells us that it will be much worse now, because Grace has already been given….there is no second chance now!!!
“It is appointed unto man to die once, then the judgment”
You’ve made Him your saviour…..are you enduring to the end? Are you spending time in The Word, while in the Spirit, and listening for His Still, Small Voice? We need to each hear from Him ourselves, in our spirits, not just listen to committee-made rules which claim to have the wisdom of God.
In these times, deception is everywhere, we need to test the spirits, and there is only one way to do it…..are you listening to Him?
