LIVING AND ABIDING IN CHRIST
Acts chapter 17
Where some people were working against Paul in worshiping idols and he pointed out to the Greeks that they had an idol to the unknown God, and he proclaimed Christ as this God. He was telling them that they didn’t know Him and they needed to get to know Him, as He knows them.
He was telling them that He is not a God who is an idol, as many people have idols today—entertainments, material goods, pleasures, etc. But he is saying that He is a personal God ..He has made everything around us and in us, and He has determined the times and bounds of our habitations. (Acts 17:26) So when we live and move and have our being within Him (v. 28) He creates the boundaries of our lives and if we aren’t totally submitted to His will we are moving beyond those boundaries and this is disobedience. We are to seek what those boundaries are and make the decisions and move He wants us to make.
“Know ye that the Lord He is God: it is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.”
“We are not of ourselves, but we are of Him’…that’s the way we need to be.
“For in Him we live and move and have our being”
Very important Words we all need to pray and meditate on and live like.’
Its only His glory, His righteousness, His wisdom and His grace that gives us life in this world and the next. How can be move and think and live without Him? We are one with Him, we are His, and we are in Him. And our boundaries need to be the ones that He has called out for us. The same thing is in the Bible everywhere, whether it’s the Old law, which are in God the Father and the boundaries He made for His people, and in Christ, in fulfilling all those laws.
And that’s what gives us the right to be in Him, our hope of glory, and go through our lives with the hope of Glory.
If we are so totally submitted to Him and realizing that every breath we take is totally reliant on Him and everything we accomplish in life is only because of Him and His working through us, because we are, after all, unprofitable servants, and when we think about the words, in Him we move and have our being, and every move we make, every time we use our muscles, and have our being. We put on the mind of Christ, every part of our personality should be a reflection of our submission to Him.

John 15:6…vine and branches
Living and abiding in Him…abundant. In Him we live and move and have our being as branches” live and move and have their being” in the vine, and bear fruit only because of the vine.
