GOD’S WORD FOR JULY 12

GOD’S WORD FOR JULY 12

Psalm 72:6-7

“May he come down like rain on the mown grass,
Like showers that water the earth.

In his days may the righteous flourish,
And peace abound until the moon is no more.”

This is one of the most beautiful verses in the Bible. It is a prayer for the Holy Spirit to come down with what is called in the Word, the “latter rain”—-when the grass (the child of God) is cut, and vulnerable, and could dry up, but for the rain that brings it new life. He makes the righteous (those who are in Christ Jesus—true Christians) to flourish, and be peaceful, as He guides us and gives us wisdom and peace until the end of time, then we will be with Jesus for eternity. Some of the many other verses using this comparison of the refreshment and life-giving of rain are Deut 32:2~~

“Let my teaching drop as the rain, My speech distill as the dew,
As the light rain upon the tender grass, And as the spring showers upon the herb.”

and

James 5:7

“So wait patiently, brothers and sisters, until the coming of the Lord. The farmer waits [expectantly] for the precious harvest from the land, being patient about it, until it receives the early and late rains”.

NOTE to reader: If you’re not sure how to be saved, and receive the promises in the Bible, feel free to message me, or talk to another true born again Christian. Jesus died for each of us. No one is excluded, no one is “too far gone”. He came to seek those who are lost, and, although He is fully God, He became man to suffer and die for YOU. But you need to accept this free gift. You can start by reading the gospel of John, and the epistles (Especially Romans, Corinthians, Ephesians, and Colossians) Go to Him sincerely, He WILL show you the Truth!!!
