GOD’S WORD FOR AUGUST 21

Philippians 3:8

“Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ”  Paul counted nothing in this world as valuable, and neither should we.  We are travelers here.  It feels more now, like we are  exiles here.  Either way, we are citizens of heaven if we are saved, and the only important thing should be our relationship to Jesus Christ.  Taking pleasure in the things of this world will draw us farther and farther from Him, and cost us great pain in the end.
