GOD’S WORD FOR DECEMBER 1 ~ ~ John 10:10 Amp~ ~ “The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].”

This does not mean material prosperity, and it is not a license to have an “eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we die” mentality. He is warning us of just the opposite. The thief, of course, is satan and his minions. They are always trying to kill, steal and destroy God’s people. It is only by the protection of God that we aren’t wiped out.

But they still can work in our minds. Deception is his shining tool against us. False doctrine, discouragement, materialism, false happiness, and many more tools are in his box., But when we have our minds and hearts clinging to Jesus, we will be able to enjoy life here, even in it’s fallen state, with a joy that comes only from Jesus, not from the false, materialistic lies flowing from the world system set up by satan for our destruction. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for Your Presence and protection in this world, AND salvation for eternity besides. Please help us to keep our eyes on You, despite the world system screaming at us. Help us to hear the still, small voice of the Holy Spirit and live the abundant life.
