GOD’S WORD FOR JANUARY 14 ~ ~ Psalm 40:17 ~ ~ “But I am poor and needy; Yet the Lord thinks upon me. You are my help and my deliverer; Do not delay, O my God.” Thank You, that You, even You, the King, Creator, and Sustainer of all that is, thinks of each of Your true children constantly.
Please show us that we truly are poor and needy, no matter what our earthly life is like. Show us that as the Church at Laodicea, the lukewarm church, though they were rich in every way, yet they were poor needy and wretched. You love us despite any “good” in us. Any perceived good, whether in us or in the world, is irrelevant to You, yet you love us, and all we want is what Your will has for us. We thank You for Your thoughts of us, and love for us, sustaining us despite our faults, and, like the Laodiceans, please show us where we fall short. Through Jesus Christ, we ask these things while we Praise Your Name. Amen
