GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 5
GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 5 ~~ ~ Ps 46:1-3 ~ ~ “God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed,
And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though its waters roar and be troubled,
Though the mountains shake with its swelling.” Rarely is this entire section of verses quoted. It’s not just small things that we take refuge in Him from, but the seemingly devastating things that overflow us. When the mountains of events seem to fall on us and threaten to crush us, we need to be in a spiritual position to lean hard on the Lord, and know that He is allowing it for our eventual good. Then we can “count it all joy” no matter what happens. (James 1:2-8) Father, we don’t know what is ahead of us in this world, but we DO know that You are more powerful than anything that can come against us, and we choose to trust You, for You are always here, and always in control. Help us to know that when the shaking begins. We come boldly to the Throne of Grace because, and in the name of, our Lord and Saviour, Your Dear Son, Jesus Christ.
