GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 18

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRURAY 18 ~ ~ Micah 7:7-9 ~ ~ “But as for me, I will be on the watch for the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me.” In context, this was after Micah’s long description of the times of God’s people in his day, when Ahab ruled, the rulers were either bribed or threatened, and no one could be trusted. In Mt 10:35 &36, Jesus quoted Micah 7:6 to speak of the end times in which we live, and which began when Jesus lived on earth, when He said “For I came to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And a man’s enemies will be the members of his household.” Tough words, predicted in Micah, verified by Jesus, beginning to be fulfilled in part even in our times, and certainly in the future. BUT it isn’t all gloom. If we teach our children to cling to the Lord, entire families will hold true and stay together. Thus, right after that, is the statement of Micah in 7:8-9 “Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me.

I will bear the indignation of the Lord, because I have sinned against him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness.”

To stay together, we must all be in the Lord, repenting of our sins, and staying close to His Love and Protection. Dear Heavenly Father, please guide all parents to study, to know the Truth to teach to their children, so there will be no division among Your people. You promised to hold our hands, to be our refuge. Please draw all members of Your families more closely to You. We come boldly to Your throne under the authority of Your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, and His intercession for us. To You be all Praise and Glory, Amen
