GOD’S WORD FOR MARCH 17~ ~ “Ps 8:3-4 When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have set in place; What is man that You think of him,
And a son of man that You are concerned about him” According to discoveries from scientists, the closest galaxy to our Milky Way is two and one half MILLION light years away! That’s the CLOSEST, and that means it takes a beam of light two and on half million years to reach it, or, to put it another way, if we look at light from its stars, that light left the star 1 ½ million years ago. Of course, there are other galaxies and objects in the billions of light years away! How big is the universe? Well, it’s obviously much smaller than its Creator!!! It’s also not as bright in its light, as He, even the largest stars (and some of them are billions of times larger and brighter than our sun). GOD IS BIGGER AND BRIGHTER STILL!!! So the question begs to be answered as in the verse above—why would a God this unfathomable and wonderful come to become one of the pitiful sinful human race and suffer horribly just to save us from our own sinful tendencies? The answer comes in one word, and that word is the substance of what God is because 1John 4:8 says that God IS LOVE!!!
