GOD’S WORD FOR JUNE 1 ~ ~ John 10:14 ~ ~ “I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.”

Our Savior knows His own, and we know Him. That happens through the Spirit and our unique personal relationship with Him that develops after we’re saved, or born again.

As I believe is His pattern in His creation, He has a situation that compares to that. Although it isn’t sheep, and it isn’t to their leader, I believe it has many similarities.

When a bee enters a hive, he does a complicated dance that shows the other bees where he has been, and therefore, where the best place is to get the pollen for their honey. This speeds up the work, since the other bees don’t have to waste flying time looking in vain.

But, when that bee first enters the hive, he could be an enemy, and a “Trojan horse” so to speak, for the hive members. So, God gave bees the best home security system for intruders. Each hive has designated that every bee entering must mix two chemicals within their bodies in the proper amounts to create a unique scent just for that hive!!!! The others know immediately that a foreigner is entering, because he doesn’t have the correct scent, and they will kill him. This is known as a chemical password, and all bees, (and presumably wasps and hornets) have the same system. If the bees swarm and begin a new hive, they create a new password that will be unique to that hive.

Thus they are known only to each other. This is like Jesus and us. We have that special password,

our relationship to Him and our lives known only to Him, that no one will know. In Revelation 2:17, Jesus says: “…To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.”

The Holy Spirit also connects each individual in the Corporate Bride of Christ. We also have a unique “scent”, which, again, the Word describes for us. This is functioning even in this world

2Corinthians 2:15 ~ ~ “ For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:” We “smell” different from those of this world, if we are truly His.

Lord, thank You that You love us that much, even now, as we are, before we’re fully sanctified, so as to give us Your special spiritual “scent” to distinguish us from the world. Thank You for giving us Your Righteousness, and staying with us every minute of the day!!! We pray that the Holy Spirit will show the unsaved of the world Your wonderful Salvation and that the Father will draw them to You. In Your wonderful name, we pray.
