GOD’S WORD FOR JUNE 14 ~ ~ “Deuteronomy 14:7 ~ ~ “ Nevertheless these ye shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the cloven hoof; as the camel, and the hare, and the coney: for they chew the cud, but divide not the hoof; therefore they are unclean unto you.”

In giving the law to His chosen people, God gave many instructions concerning what is clean and unclean to eat. For many years, this verse was used as “proof” as a false statement to therefore discredit the entire Bible, because the hare doesn’t chew the cud.

Relatively recently, however, it was discovered that the hare actually does re-eat and re-digest its food.

In studying their droppings, it was suspected, and later proven, that they have two types of droppings.

Sometimes dry and efficiently digested. But they found that they also eliminate another type which is soft, and encased in a membrane. This type, however, never touches the ground. The hare reaches underneath with its mouth and swallows this pellet, and finishes the chewing and digesting. This is called reingestion.

The reprocessed pellet provides more nourishment and aids digestion by providing lactic acid, potassium, sodium and phosphorus. This makes the digestion very efficient by catching what was missed the first time around.

This shows us two things ~ ~ 1. The Creator of the Universe knows how to make a hare!!!!!

2. The Bible is true in every detail. No one has ever found a mistake—and they’re still trying!!!!
3. When we understand, deep in our hearts, that every word is true, we can rest totally on every promise!!!!

In these times, more than ever, we need to live by His Word in every area of our lives, for every moment of our days. We need to pray for this nation to turn back to Him in humility. It begins with believers, and that is our only hope for America.
