GOD’S WORD FOR JULY 6 ~ ~ Psalm 145:9 ~ ~ “The Lord is good to all,
And His mercies are over all His creation.”
Our Lord God creates every animal and plant for a purpose, but we are ignorant of it. He has the solution to everything built into His natural system, plus the design He put into each one as He knew the fall of man would come, and things would change.
Animals lived peacefully with each other in the pre-fall garden, as they will again on the new earth.
But when the world was turned upside down by sin, things changed, and the latent talents and instincts had to come to the front for survival.
God speaks to His creation. They learn from their mothers, but they also learn from their Creator.
The mongoose, for instance, long known to be the ultimate professional snake killer, knows how to kill a snake even when raised in captivity without a mother to teach him. That’s God at work in that little guy.
There are 34 species of these talented hunters, and they live in most areas of the world. They’re only about 18 inches long, and weigh just a few pounds. They have very short legs, which keep them close to the ground, which is easier to deal with the snakes.
They are tremendously fast and agile athletes, able to run at full speed up to a wall or corner, and turn the last second without slowing down. They can also stand on their hind legs, and make leaps in the air, then drop, curl, and roll like a ball in an instant. No doubt this speed and agility were given to them to confuse the snakes and avoid their lethal attacks. They can tolerate a small amount of venom, but will probably die from a full dose. They can eat a venomous snake because the venom in the snake’s body won’t enter their bloodstream through eating. Stomach acids will change it. That’s the difference between poisonous animals and venomous animals. Poison can be absorbed through the mouth, skin, or even inhalation in some cases, but venom must be injected directly into the bloodstream.
They have to be one of the Lord’s favorites. I like to think He had fun creating many of His unusual animals and plants……all for His Glory!!!!!!!
When anyone is observant, it would be impossible not to believe in the Eternal Creator. Just look around!!!! We are without excuse. The Word of God says so:
“For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, being understood by what has been made, so that they are without excuse.”
Those who say they don’t believe in God, or who refuse to submit to the personal Lordship of Jesus, are without excuse, says the Almighty. Deep down, they know about Him. Those who teach evolution can try to blur that knowledge, but they can’t stop it. God will not be mocked. In the end, we “reap what we sow”, and looking around us daily, should remind us all of that fact.
