GOD’S WORD FOR AUGUST 26
GOD’S WORD FOR AUGUST 26 ~ ~ Acts 17:25~ ~ “… as though he needed any thing, seeing he gives to all life, and breath, and all things…”
We all have a large number of clocks within us that help keep life constant in changing surroundings, and make our organs and systems work perfectly together. All of our systems have to work perfectly together, or literally, our life would end. Chemical and physical reactions are constantly taking place within us (and all created things) in perfect sync.
The pineal gland is one clock that helps us adjust to our surroundings like the changing lengths of daylight through the year.
Earlier in this century, many scientists, having no understanding of the pineal, decided that it had no purpose and was left over as a vestige from our evolution. Creationists knew it must have a purpose because they knew we have not evolved.
If you are one of those people who typically feel a bit more lethargic or even depressed during the darkest months of winter, you might be able to blame your pineal, which is located near the center of your brain. How can a gland deep in the center of the brain know how long the days are? Light causes our bodies to make certain chemicals. When days are short, those chemicals are scarce, so the pineal cannot make from these chemicals the hormones that encourage the alertness we feel in the spring and summer. In addition, your pineal has a private nerve hookup to your eyes, so it can literally see for itself how much light is available! Scientists have found that adding artificial light during winter can sometimes help the winter blues, but not completely or universally. You can’t fool the God-created body.
Our bodies are a network of complex control systems and chemical factories – a complex union of systems that go beyond the abilities of the best human designers, but which testify to the wisdom of the Creator!
Ps 139:13 ~ ~ “For You formed my inward parts;
You wove me in my mother’s womb.”
Our spiritual life is complex too. Christ is the controller of all parts of us, physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual. All these parts are complicated in themselves. Yet, we can trust Him with every part of ourselves and our lives. He will guide us, guard us, teach us, comfort us, give us joy, peace, knowledge, wisdom, faith, hope, love, and even show Himself to us. We exist in Him, through Him and by Him. That is a lot to think about! And think about this:
1Corinthians 8:6 ~ ~ “yet for us there is only one God, the Father, from whom are all things, and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist through Him.”
Once we get even that one statement deep into our hearts, it will change our lives!
