GOD’S WORD FOR OCTOBER 25 ~ ~ Psalm 150:2~ ~ “Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.”

For generations it was a rule that reptiles were cold blooded. And turtles, being reptiles, were therefore called cold blooded as well. Being cold blooded, it was expected that the body temperature of turtles would be close to that of the surrounding water.

But the leatherback turtle, while weighing in at 920 pounds, is able to maintain a body temperature of 72 degrees Fahrenheit, even when placed in a tank of 45 degree water. These turtles range from warm tropical waters to cold northern waters, often migrating between them.

The leatherback breaks the evolutionary mold, and proves that reptiles can be warm blooded.

We need not be surprised when an animal, or plant, in creation doesn’t fit the mold. God makes the rules. Man does not. He seems to take delight in showing the fallacies of arrogant mankind.

Psalm 96:11-13 ~ ~ “May the heavens be joyful, and may the earth rejoice;
May the sea roar, and all it contains;
May the field be jubilant, and all that is in it.
Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy
Before the Lord, for He is coming,
For He is coming to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness,
And the peoples in His faithfulness.”

Psalm 42:7

“Deep calls to deep at the sound of Your waterfalls; All Your breakers and Your waves have passed over me.”

Man is naturally arrogant about another thing—-eternity. Most people don’t know they can be sure of being saved from hell, because they are holding onto their pride of having to do it themselves. “If I can be good enough” But what is good enough, perfection, is unattainable in our fallen state.

Jesus said that apart from Him we can do nothing—–especially perfection!

The Word of God is true in every detail. Just as it is true about creation, so is it true about eternity and salvation.

Acts 4:12 ~ ~

“And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among people by which we must be saved [for God has provided the world no alternative for salvation].”
