GOD’S WORD FOR JANUARY 10 ~ ~ Psalm 130:5-6 ~ ~
“ I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
And I wait for His word.
My soul waits in hope for the Lord
More than the watchmen for the morning;
Yes, more than the watchmen for the morning.”
The psalmist knows that the coming of the next day for each of us is not ever 100 percent sure. God may take us at any time. Nor is anything in this world sure. The things of this world are many times deceptions of satan, and we see the events happening that are signs of greater events to come.
The only really sure thing is the Word of God. We can be sure of God at all times!!
Therefore, as the psalmist says, we can be more sure of the Lord and His Love and promises than we can be of the dawn coming.
Our spiritual dawn is sure—as sure as the Word and Life of our God, if we have made our transfer of dependency for everything in this life and eternity TOTALLY upon Him and not ourselves.
