WHERE IS THE FEAR AND TREMBLING?
What has happened to the Christian Church? Have we forgotten Who God is?
Many Christians have been saved by hearing an evangelistic preacher tell of God’s Grace, forgiving us of our sins because of Christ’s substitution, and that is absolutely true, and right. We are saved entirely by Grace.
But, I believe that is where the Church “drops the ball”. The preaching from then on is as if the Almighty God, Creator of the Universe just drops out of sight, and Jesus becomes, not God, but some cosmic genie who grants our every wish just by saying His name, and our responsibilities end, because He took our sins.
Many Christians have ceased to diligently seek a relationship with the God of the Trinity, and instead, are seeing Jesus as a “buddy”. To be sure, He is tremendously in love with us, and creates our love for Him, and our life’s goal should be to become closer to Him everyday, but, let’s not forget Who He is. If we have the right relationship with Him, we will be submitted to Him and the Father, and let THEM decide what our needs are. His decisions are always perfect.
There is NOTHING in the Bible about making our decisions, then praying for Our Lord to make them happen, or bless them.
We are to submit to His will for every detail of our lives with fear and trembling, not forgetting Who He is!!!!
Our inner stance should always be on our faces before His Throne, in thanksgiving for Salvation, in submission to His Regeneration of us, and praise for Who He is.
