ARK OF THE COVENANT

The Philistines took the Ark of the Covenant, but everywhere they sent it, the Lord passed judgment

on the people, so they eventually sent it back to Israel. They were afraid of the God of Israel, but

they didn’t want to give up their idols and worship Him. They thought if He wasn’t too close, if they

ignored him, then they could keep on with their lives as usual.

What about us, when the Lord tries to get our attention, what do we do? Ignore Him and keep on

with our modern day “idols” of entertainment, leisure, etc., …keep him at a  distance…or do we

stop, and listen to Him, and give ourselves totally to Him—developing our ability to “hear” Him?
