Romans 5:8 “But God clearly shows and proves His own love for us, by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Every Christian would do well to meditate on this scripture. It is the very basis of salvation, and the diving board to launch us to tell others about Salvation in Christ. He didn’t wait for us to clean up our lives. He didn’t even wait for us to realize that we weren’t “squeaky clean”. He gave up His Glory with the Father, became man, lived on this grubby earth, worked, got hot, cold, hungry, sad, happy, and frustrated, just like any other man—-without the power of God. He loves the murderer, and the most horrible sinner enough to die for them, and we are no better in the Father’s judgment. But, still, at that time, in that state, He suffered and died for us and won the victory for us. Something to contemplate and thank Him for.
