GOD’S WORD FOR JULY 23
Romans 5:8 “But God clearly shows and proves His own love for us, by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Every Christian would do well to meditate on this scripture. It is the very basis of salvation, and the diving board to launch us to tell others about Salvation in Christ. He didn’t wait for us to clean up our lives. He didn’t even wait for us to realize that we weren’t “squeaky clean”. He gave up His Glory with the Father, became man, lived on this grubby earth, worked, got hot, cold, hungry, sad, happy, and frustrated, just like any other man—-without the power of God. Remember, He only had His prayer time to get the Father’s direction, Love and encouragement, just like us. In Gethsemane and on the cross, He didn’t even have that, because the Father had to look away from the sin He took on Himself. That sin was yours and mine—before we had any idea about His sacrifice. He loves the murderer, and the most horrible sinner enough to die for them, and we are no better in the Father’s judgment. But, still, at that time, in that state, He suffered and died for us and won the victory for us. Something to contemplate and thank Him for.
NOTE to reader: If you’re not sure how to be saved, and receive the promises in the Bible, feel free to message me, or talk to another true born again Christian. Jesus died for each of us. No one is excluded, no one is “too far gone”. He came to seek those who are lost, and, although He is fully God, He became man to suffer and die for YOU. But you need to accept this free gift. You can start by reading the gospel of John, and the epistles (Especially Romans, Corinthians, Ephesians, and
