Christianity is different from any other religion. All other religions, (including atheism, which also is a religion, because it is ultimately based upon a belief,) are based on performance, bringing either reward or punishment. Only Christianity gives the believer a chance to be judged on the merits of Someone else’s good works. Not only that, but that Someone who substituted for the believer is the Judge Himself. It’s as if the Judge sentences the criminal to death for his crime, then steps down from the bench, and puts his own neck in the noose for the criminal so he can live free because the sentence was carried out and justice was satisfied. That’s what Jesus did. How can we not take advantage of that?
