1Peter 1:16” It is written, “You shall be Holy, for I am Holy” In order to escape punishment for our sins, we have two options: Be perfect all the days of our lives—that is in thought, word and deed. Even thinking of doing a sin, is a sin, because it deviates from perfect holiness. That’s why Romans 3:23 says: “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” because, plainly put, We all have!!! So that option for getting to heaven is not an option at all. The only other option is to hang onto the coat tails of someone who has been perfect, but that won’t work UNLESS that person actually paid the price for every one of your sins…..actually took the punishment that you deserve. That person, of course, is Jesus Christ. The Father’s perfect justice has been satisfied by Jesus for your sins. You can go free. But will you? You will only if you accept that free gift, and accept the substitution of Jesus’ life for yours. No prisoner is free until he walks out of his cell, and so it is spiritually. Will you accept Jesus’ substitution for your sinful life? If you accept the gift and the challenge to live in His graces for the rest of your life, You will enjoy the great benefits of being in the family of God for eternity. Just tell Jesus you want to accept Him as your Lord and Saviour, and begin reading the Word, and learning from other true believers.
