JESUS AND DIVISION

JESUS AND DIVISION

The governments are trying to divide us.
“Divide and conquer” is the cry in world capitals today.

We are one as Americans, but in reality, we are not one Biblically.

Jesus said that He came to divide.

Matthew 10:34-39 and Luke chapter 12:49-53 make that fact clear.

We are seeing the division, but many are seeing it as a political division, when it is clearly along Biblical lines. Those who have ignored Him, compromised on His teachings, and delayed obedience to Him, are being blinded to the Truth. Compromise is rejection of Christ, and delayed obedience is disobedience.

Romans 1:20-32 describes the digression from knowing God to a debased and corrupt, sinful mind, blocked by spiritual blindness. It doesn’t start out that way. It starts with a “putting off” until later, in dealing with “minor” sins. It starts with not making time to spend with the Lord daily in His Word. It starts with putting too much time into the entertainments of this world. In fact, NO worldly entertainment is of God. Many, if not most, people who call themselves Christians are guilty of these things, and on a slippery slope. That’s why there is so much compromise in many churches. The deception is everywhere.

Jesus said in Revelations 3:16, “So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.”

Make no mistake, it is a dreadful thing to hear Jesus say that. He will then say, “Depart from Me, I never knew You” (Mt 7:23). We need to endure to the end, and not fall for the deceptions of this evil world, even a little bit.

Compromise is a much more evil sin than most people know. It’s very reasonable to assume that not every citizen of Sodom and Gomorrah, those huge cities, was a homosexual. The Word says that it vexed the righteous heart of Lot. But, apparently, God found no one else with a righteous heart there, except him and his family (and we have to question his wife, since she lamented about leaving). Since I doubt that every man woman and child were actually involved in the physical acts, that means that many of the citizens were “lukewarm”. They were saying, “it’s not for me, but it’s not so bad.” They were lukewarm. They were spit out of the mouth of God. The Word says that Judgment begins with the House of God. (1Peter 4:17)

There is the division, that appears to be political, but it is spiritual, Biblical, and the House of God, the true Church, the Bride of Christ, is being judged by our reaction to these things. It’s not only this sin, but abortion, and all the others coming out of this huge deception.

James tells us that the double minded man should expect nothing from God. We can’t condone sin and expect God to bless us or our church, family or nation.

Now, in such a short time, this nation and world, in seemingly lightning speed, has gone from social sins to murder and bloodshed, treason, and imprisoning of citizens. Fear of concentration camps, and even death is not far off.

Should the church cower in fear of these earthly leaders? Should we keep silent, spread ourselves apart and live under rocks? Let’s see what Jesus said:

Mt. 10:28 and Luke 12:4 “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”

If it comes to that, we will be in good company. The churches in eastern nations are true martyrs for Jesus Christ, and will live in honor and glory for eternity.

Faith or fear, that’s what it boils down to. Fear is natural. We have small fears in our lives, but the thing to do is not to ignore even the small ones, but to take them to the Lord, like any other sin, and He will give us strength to overcome them.

But the greatest fear we need to deal with is fear of the world powers, which are, of course, not the people, but the powers of the air—satan’s minions.

Humanism would have us worshipping the human race and the “leaders” of it. It would have us worship beautiful people, powerful people, talented people, and, as it turns out, usually evil people! It would have us worship the earth, and all of God’s natural creation, but not the Creator. THAT is what we’re being ruled by at this time.

Fear of these is a sin. Cowardice in the face of the devil is a sin. Don’t believe that it is just a weakness that God will wink at. No, He won’t.

Without faith we cannot please God. (Hebrews 11:6) He will develop our faith when we stay in His word daily, and ask for Him to increase it. In this day and age, there is no excuse, no matter how busy anyone is, not to stay in the Word. We have electronic means all over, for reasonable prices. The hard thing for most is to turn the world off and turn the Word on!!!

In Revelation 21:7-8, Jesus lists the sins that will send people to hell—the “top ten”. Right at the top of it—–not murderers, etc.—no…it’s the FEARFUL. Fear is the top sin, because fear and faith cannot abide together. They cannot exist in the same person. He says (again in Hebrews 11:6) that we MUST have faith to please Him. It stands then, that we need to make room for faith by throwing out fear, by His grace. He’ll do it, when we make obedient moves to get out of the world and into His Word. He has given us hundreds of promises of Him sustaining and protecting us. There is no excuse for a Christian to be cowering before an evil world leader.

**1Kings 18:21 says “If the Lord is God follow Him, but if Baal, follow him.” Don’t claim to be a Christian if you are not following God all the way. Admit that you are on the other side, or return in repentance before Him.

**“Silence is not golden, it is yellow”—wise and true words spoken by a true man of God.
