GOD’S WORD FOR DECEMBER 5 ~ ~ Ephesians 6:16 ~ ~ “ above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.” This is part of the entire armor of God described in detail in Ephesians chapter 6. The fiery darts are the deceptive thoughts that demons put into our minds to weaken our trust of God in our circumstances. They will hit that metal shield, put the fire out, and destroy the arrow, leaving us with an indescribable peace that comes only from the Trinity of God. We put up the shield by knowing and quoting the promises in the Word. If we are saved, the demons will know it. When we quote the salvation verses, and the promises pertaining to the particular arrow at the time, they must flee. That’s when we will feel the relief and peace. This is what Jesus did in the desert after His 40 day fast, when satan came to tempt Him. If we’re not saved, the promises don’t apply, and they will know that too. This is why deception grows if not dealt with by turning truly to the Lord to be saved. If that speaks to you, please, ask Jesus to forgive your sins, because of His death on the cross, not because of anything you did or didn’t do. Tell Him He is your Lord and your Savior and you want to live for him from now on. We thank You and praise You Jesus, for Your salvation and Your great love for us.
