GOD’S WORD FOR DECEMBER 6
GOD’S WORD FOR DECEMBER 6 ~ ~ Hebrews 12:2 ~ ~ “looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” When we think of what Jesus endured, just for you and me, not only the tremendous pressure and pain, the cruelty, (remembering that He created all things—including those who were mocking Him, and yet, he didn’t say a word): But what we don’t think of is the shame. It was the most hideous, down-in-the-dirt way to die of all methods. It was a curse, to tell someone to “go to a bad cross”. It meant the same as “go to hell”
For the God of all creation, the God of the Universe, the King of Glory, to choose to die that way JUST FOR US, I can’t imagine anyone ignoring that and going their way. BUT He endured it, finished it, and now you and I, who are saved, will be able to see Him on His throne, and be with Him forever! Praise You, Lord!
