GOD’S WORD FOR JANUARY 24
GOD’S WORD FOR JANUARY 24 ~ ~ Ephesians 1:18-23~ ~ “the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.”
Jesus had just been Resurrected, after He defeated Satan, who is also put under the feet of Jesus, as are all true believers, angels, devils, and all of creation.
All true believers are SEATED IN HEAVENLY PLACES, in Jesus, according to Ephesians 2:5-6 below.
“even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,”
Also:
Ephesians 1:3 also tells us: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,”
Hebrews Chapter 2 describes the same things.
So, why don’t we see more power in our lives, since we’re seated in heaven? Scripture makes it clear, it’s because we’re too connected to this world. We will not see the heavenly places in this life unless we are under the feet of Jesus.
He must be the total and undisputed Lord over all areas of our lives, and we must reject the world with all its gawdy, false glory, and look only to Him for everything.
As Paul said in Romans 14:8:
“ For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.”
We must live that way, if we want to see the power, peace and joy that we have in heavenly places. God’s Word is true in every sense. We ARE one with the One that is Lord of all things if we’re born again. We can speak to Him and hear Him in our spirits. But, in order to experience this to the degree that we should, we need to be much more submitted to Him—-totally surrendered to Him in all areas, especially in rejecting the lures of this evil world.—entertainment, ideas, materialism, and “self esteem” to name a few. We can do nothing apart from Him. NOTHING. We wouldn’t be alive, and we would end up in the lake of fire for eternity.
Everything in this world system is controlled by the devil. It’s time many Christians stop obeying the devil instead of the Lord and Savior!!!!! It’s time many Christians stop giving time to the things of the devil and give more time to the Lord. Think of how much time most Christians spend on foolish entertainment, which only takes them farther from knowing Jesus!
BUT Most worldly entertainment is far worse than foolish—most of it is designed to blind us to the things of the Lord. Much of that is subliminal, but very effective, especially to children and teens. There are no second chances. Every minute counts. We, as Christians will be judged for how we spent our time on earth, and how we raised our children, including how we taught them to spend their time wisely.
The clock is ticking, and none of us knows for how long.
