GOD’S WORD FOR JANUARY 26 ~ ~ Hebrews 10:23 Amp ~ ~ “ Let us seize and hold tightly the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is reliable and trustworthy and faithful [to His word]” It is unfortunate that the word “hope” is so misunderstood today. Many times it is used to speak of our eternal life, with our resurrected bodies. Our perspective today of that word is “I hope this works”, or “I hope it doesn’t rain today.” It does not depict a sure thing, just a whispered wish in the wind. That is NOT what the word meant when translated, nor what the original Greek word means. Conversely, it means a very sure thing. It is saying that if we’re born again, there is no way that we won’t be with Jesus for eternity in the perfect New Earth and Heaven. This is something to seize in our minds and hold on to, confessing it before people, and telling them about the Good News available to them also.
