GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 1 ~ ~ John 16:13~ ~ “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.” At the time Jesus said this, He had not yet come. It was on Pentecost, when the Apostles were alone in the upper room, after Jesus died and rose again, that the Holy Spirit came to them. Previously without understanding and frightened, they became bold in proclaiming the Gospel, and spoke in different tongues. When we are saved by the Power of God, we are each given the same indwelling Holy Spirit. That is the “still, small voice” that we hear in our spirits, not with our ears. Since our spirits are brought alive at the time of salvation, we become able to hear His voice. Jesus said the Holy Spirit will speak of Him (Jesus). This is the same Spirit of God who hovered over Creation in the beginning, instilling the Word of God into all things.
