GOD’S WORD FOR APRIL 18
GOD’S WORD FOR APRIL 18 ~ ~ Genesis 2:9 ~ ~ “And out of the ground the Lord God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food.”
The trunks of trees in the depths of the rainforests are hollow. We may wonder how they get nutrients, since most tree trunks are full of a vascular system to bring nutrients which are in the water in the soil to their leaves and branches.

Because of the great volume of water in the soil in those areas, those soils are very weak in nitrogen and other nutrients needed by the trees. The trees being hollow, further limits the absorption of what little nutrients there are. But within this seemingly negative collection of facts, is the wisdom of the Creator. There is no problem faced by the differences in climates of the world, or by the corruption of His creation by the entrance of sin into it, (which He knew before it happened) that He hasn’t solved in some way, just as He solves all our problems in our life here and in eternity.
These areas are dark and damp,—perfect for bats. So are the hollow trunks, which house hundreds of bats during the daytime hours. The feces and urine from these bats is full of nutrients, including high amounts of nitrogen, which the tree absorbs, in turn to grow, to house more bats. So, in the wisdom of the Creator, the circle is complete, as usual.
He does the same with His believers. There are people who appear to have weaknesses, even deformities, like the hollow trunks, and therefore short on some physical, emotional or spiritual nutrients. When others spend time with them, give of themselves to them, their gifts trigger unknown wisdom and/or gifts in the others, which, in turn return to them as well as reaching out to still others. Look at everyone through the eyes of the Father, Creator, Savior, and Counselor, and see what circles He will make in your life for others.
