GOD’S WORD FOR JUNE 11
GOD’S WORD FOR JUNE 11~ ~ Hebrews 1:2-3 ~ ~ “Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person,,,,”
Jesus is the Word of God. The Trinity being one together, The spirit of the Trinity is the Holy Spirit, and the Word of the Trinity is Jesus. The Trinity, expressed in the mind of the Father, spoke creation into existence by His Words. Ex: “Let there be light,” and there was light. Jesus is the Father’s Words, so it is through Him that all things came about and through Him they hold together. God’s words are incredibly powerful in every way!
Jesus is the brightness of the Father’s Glory and express image of His person. Brightness of His Glory.— He makes the Glory of the Father visible to us. He makes the untouchable God touchable to us. He makes the veiled God of the Old Testament visible to us. He makes us see the brightness of the Father in our humanity. They are one. They are equal. The Father is one with His Word because He can only speak Truth. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. That sums up the Glory of God. He is the only way to the Father, they are only Truth, and salvation through the cross alone is the only eternal life. There is nothing we can do to improve on His salvation. In fact, Isaiah 64:6 says our good works (our “good” works, not our sins) are filthy rags to Him. That includes church rituals, like reenacting the Last Supper at mass, or blasphemy in the form of confessing sins to a human being who is claiming to have the authority to decide who has their sins forgiven, when only God has that authority. We need to confess directly to Jesus. He is always knocking and asking for us to open up our hearts to Him. If we try to impress God with rituals, we are not acknowledging the salvation of Jesus. It’s our pride of humanity showing through, as if we can impress God. Pride is the sin that made Lucifer fall.
Next time we’ll talk about the last part of this beautiful scripture—salvation itself.
