GOD’S WORD FOR JUNE 25

GOD’S WORD FOR JUNE 25~ ~ Proverbs 16:9~ ~ “A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.”

Lamentations 3:22-25

The Lord’s acts of mercy indeed do not end,
For His compassions do not fail.
 They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
2“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“Therefore I wait for Him.”
 The Lord is good to those who await Him,
To the person who seeks Him.

If even one tiny thing in this universe is out of God’s control, then we can’t trust Him for anything.

He is either in control of all, or He is in control of nothing. He is either Sovereign, or He is fallible. We must choose to trust Him fully or not trust Him at all. Not trusting Him means that we choose to strive to be perfect on our own, which is impossible, and we will end up in hell. To trust Him fully means that we rely upon His sacrifice to pay the price for our sins and failures, and also trust Him for the events and trials in this life, and we can live with Him eternally. But to be somewhere in between drops us down to not trusting Him at all, because then we are “lukewarm” and Jesus said then He will vomit us out of His mouth!!! Yup. Jesus said that in Revelation 3:16

“So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of My mouth.” It’s probably the harshest thing He has ever said in His Word about believers. But, if we’re lukewarm, we’re not really believers. In order to be in a position where He can do what He needs to do in us, we have to have both feet in. We can’t believe only when we feel like it, or for some things. We have to determine to believe His whole Word as Truth.

BUT that faith isn’t something we can muster up ourselves. He will give it to us when we really want to believe, but we have to really want to. We can confess that we can’t do it, but we want to, and that’s OK. Faith also comes from Him, like everything else good. Hebrews 12:2 says He is the Author and finisher of our faith, and so He is. Just ask Him to give you the faith, then give Him time with you to do that work in you. Spend time talking to Him, and spend time in His Word. Talk to Him while you’re working, resting, sleeping, eating. …when you’re worried, happy, troubled, peaceful.

Once we really know that He is in control of all, and He will always do what’s good for us, we don’t have to worry about what happens. He will guard us, guide us, —-but He also will test us—-WHILE He is right there, with His arms around us. That’s why He promises us Perfect Peace, because HE WILL DELIVER.
