GOD’S WORD FOR JULY 21

GOD’S WORD FOR JULY 21 ~ ~ Philippians 2:3 ~ ~ “Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than themselves.”

If anyone doubts that we are in the end times spoken of in Romans chapter 1, they haven’t been looking around. The slippery slope has tipped to extreme angles and evil is gaining speed to astounding levels.

If anyone would quote the above verse, they would be harassed, ridiculed, and if they had a job that would influence others, they would lose their job and reputation. There would be few if any, to defend them.

How much courage do most Christians have to stand up for the mindset of believers who agree with the Word of God? Are we ready for this world getting far worse than it is? Are we firm enough in our belief to have stood in Sodom or in the evil days of Noah’s pre-flood world? If we were there, would we have gone into the ark, as Noah pleaded for over a hundred years?

Paul said in Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believes; …”

The root of our apathy and fear, many times, is the very sin that was found in Lucifer in the beginning, went through Adam and Eve, Caine, and on down through the ages. It is arguably the most prevalent root sin seen today, producing evil fruit in many areas, branching out like a satanic octopus. It is the mother of such sins as fornication, rape, incest, lying, hatred, stealing……….and all other sins, because “looking out for #1” is a popular mindset created by the master liar and the father of liars, Lucifer himself.

It is the sin of pride, perpetuated by the entertainment media that steals the innocence and common sense of youth, not to mention their faith, if they have any.

It’s all about being beautiful, staying young by any means available, having a perfect body, but ignoring the personality and intelligence that is really attractive.

James gives us the basic remedy against this world’s message in James 4:10

Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.” This lying world hates humility and equates it with weakness and low intelligence.

Where does God stand? The inspired words in 1 Peter 5:5 tell us God’s firm stand.

“…. for God resists the proud, and gives grace to the humble.” Just the opposite of what you see on “Oprah” and all the rest.

The wisest man who ever lived, having the wisdom of God, namely Solomon, under God’s inspiration, said this in Proverbs 29:23

“A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.”

Solomon aksi said this by inspiration: Proverbs 16:18

Pride goes before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.”

In fact, a haughty spirit, shown by “haughty eyes” is one of the seven things in the list of what God hates:

Proverbs 6:16-19

“There are six things that the Lord hates,
Seven that are an abomination to Him:
Haughty eyes, a lying tongue,
And hands that shed innocent blood,
A heart that devises wicked plans,
Feet that run rapidly to evil,
A false witness who declares lies,
And one who spreads strife among brothers.”

The Creator of all things, Lover of our Souls, Lord of Lords, King of Kings, and Savior of those who will give their lives to Him, knows how to get to the root of the problem. In this case, the root of the problem of sin in a society is widespread false pride.

We, as believers, are beautiful to Him, not because of our looks, but because we are to reflect HIS beauty in character. The world will not understand this inner beauty, but He does, and that’s all that counts. The more we know we need Him, the more He can help us and lift us up in His Grace and Love.

That’s why the devil is working so hard to make each member of this society think that they must be “the best” in this world by any means, while ignoring the inner strength and beauty of a child of God. He wants to drag all he can to hell with him.

Follow the One who died for you, and promised to give you a beautiful eternal life. It is impossible for Him to lie, so that eternal life is available to you.

DON’T follow the one who lies so he will have company in eternal punishment. Jesus made it clear that if we’re not living for Jesus, we’re living for the devil, because by default we already are.
