GOD’S WORD FOR OCTOBER 3 ~ ~ Romans 1:18-19~ ~ “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shown it unto them.”

God has given many plants and animals a disguise for their protection. But to the tiger swallowtail butterfly He has given three disguises as it grows through its various stages.

The newly hatched larva looks like a bird dropping, so, of course, no bird would be interested. Later the caterpillar has turned green to match the leaves it is eating. To add to the delusion, he also has two large spots on his head that look like the eyes of a snake. Birds, of course, stay away from snakes. Finally, in the pupal stage, the tiger swallowtail has changed his disguise again. The pupa now looks like nothing more than just another broken twig on a tree trunk!

Of course, since the One True God of the Universe created both the butterfly and his predators, He understands how to make the disguises. They involve three different ways of thinking by the birds when they see the young swallowtail, and decide to go elsewhere for lunch.

When we see these things in nature, we see how detailed God’s thinking is for each of His creatures.

We can see that He put the thinking and instinct patterns into both the predator and the prey. He works all things together in His perfect creation. He still does that, even though it has been corrupted by the sin of Adam and Eve, creating havoc on creation.

For us, who know Him personally, all things work together in a special way, according to Romans 8:28, which says “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose”.

One day, in His time, we will live on a new Earth, with a perfect creation ~ ~ no death, no sickness, no decay. But only those who are truly His will be there. Will you be?
