GOD’S WORD FOR OCTOBER 6

GOD’S WORD FOR OCTOBER 6 ~ ~ “ In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. and the earth was a formless and desolate emptiness, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters. “

This is a quick summary of the history of creation to remind us of the relationship between, and the interaction of, physical creation, mankind, and the fall into sin.

PART 1

In the Garden of Eden, creation was under the authority of Adam,(as a steward to God) Animals loved Adam and Eve. They worshiped them as gods, because they saw the True God of the Universe through Adam, since he was in one accord with God, and therefore perfect in their eyes. The animals loved to serve Adam, to help him, and obey him. It would never enter their minds to hurt Adam or Eve because they saw God in them. It was beautiful, and God said it was “very good”.

But when satan entered the serpent and started spewing his half-truths, corrupting the Truth of God,

everything changed. Adam and Eve were no longer perfect. They were like satan instead of like God.

This frightened the animals, and they no longer loved him nor did they choose to serve them, because they no longer saw their Creator God in him. At the same time, as the generations came, men became brutish. If the animals didn’t obey they would become mean to them. In a short time, enmity developed between nature and mankind. Wild animals killed often, as satan enticed them to.

It got so bad, with demons possessing both men and animals, that God had to choose the animals who weren’t corrupted, and start over. Remember, Noah didn’t get the animals, God told them to walk to the ark. They probably didn’t have to walk clear across the earth, because the terrain would have been quite level, and because of the water canopy in the sky, the climate would have been the same across the whole earth. All that changed after the flood.

But, despite losing the beauty and comfort that existed before the flood, the good part was that the evil people and possessed animals were all gone, and the demons which possessed the men to produce mutant beings who were huge, powerful and evil, were all locked up in chains forever in the fiery pit. Still, satan wasn’t going to give up. With a new beginning, things started over again, with satan making new schemes to try to usurp the Throne of the Almighty.

It went on, until Christ made the perfect sacrifice. That, and the presence of the Holy Spirit, created a path of redemption for both man and creation.

Romans 8:22-23 says: “ For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now.  And not only that, but also we ourselves, having the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons and daughters, the redemption of our body”. Obviously, then, animals, and even vegetation and the earth itself, know something about the spirit world. In fact, they know much more about God than most humans who aren’t saved. Creation wants man to be redeemed, and the new earth to be his home, and theirs, because then they will be stable again. They can trust again, and have a “god” and master who is connected to the Creator God, and things will be like at the beginning.

Jesus said in Luke 19:40, referring to the people praising Him and the pharisees objecting: “Jesus replied, “I tell you, if these stop speaking, the stones will cry out!” All of creation, be it animal, vegetable or mineral, knows its Creator, and obeys Him!
