GOD’S WORD FOR OCTOBER 7
GOD’S WORD FOR OCTOBER 7 ~ ~ Mark 16:15~ ~ “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
PART 2 –continued from October 6
The command above says that we should proclaim the gospel —Redemption — to ALL CREATURES. Did you ever wonder why it says creatures instead of all humans, or all men, or mankind? Animals are not created in the image of God, and don’t have a spirit. But clearly creation and its creatures know their Creator God with a closeness that is beyond our understanding. Animals are spoken of by God directly in many many places in the Word, either in parables, symbolism, or just in tenderness and love that can only come from the heart of a loving Creator. The Word tells us that He directs animals Himself.
Chapters 38 and 39 of Job describes this.
When God made the covenant with Noah and his family after the flood, —memorialized by the rainbow—Genesis 9:12 &13
“And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.”
That covenant was with all of His creation ….creatures and earth….as well as mankind. He has a covenant with them, as He has one with mankind. That shows how important His creatures are to Him.
Psalm 145:21 ~ ~ “My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord: and let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever.”
Preachers who say that animals won’t be with us in eternity have not studied the subject. True, they cannot be in the heaven that is the Throne room of God, because they won’t have spiritual bodies like we will, but as we will have bodies that can go from earth to heaven, (just like Jesus’ redemption body did) we can be with animals on the new earth. While the Word doesn’t specifically say that our pets themselves will be on the new earth, it does say that animals will be there. God knows our love for our pets, and He loves them Himself, and directs and trains them through instinct and direct communication, as He does with His other creatures. He uses them for our benefit both in activities and emotional and spiritual healing, so why would He not reward them with eternal happiness on the new earth, along with the wild animals and with their beloved owners and friends here?
“If you continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which you have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;”
When we worship God and study His Word, we need to see the entire picture, not just the part of Him that relates to us, as important as that is. His creation shows His attributes, power and wisdom that we can’t see in other areas. He shows us lessons in the created world, as well as other areas, and we need to take the entire view in. He spent most of the six days of creation creating the physical world. It has meaning.
Psalm 145:16 ~ ~ “You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing.”
