GOD’S WORD FOR MARCH 6

GOD’S WORD FOR MARCH 6 ~ ~Jeremiah 23:24 ~ ~ “Can anyone hide himself in secret places, So I shall not see him?” says the Lord; “Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says the Lord.”

Good mushrooms, bad mushrooms, mushroom relatives, —-some people love them, others hate them.

But there are many sides to the mushroom fungus.

They help decay and recycle dead trees, otherwise we’d be walking on a world full of slowly rotting logs. Some are a friendly addition to live trees.

This type help the trees grow in the first place. In fact, the tree and the fungus form a partnership in which both benefit. Most of the mushroom is under the bark of a tree that you see it on. The main part is mycelium which is a white substance that coats the tree’s roots and helps the tree bring water and nutrients up to the branches. In payment, the mushroom gets excess sugars from the tree.

This partnership can get very important. The Douglas Fir has over 1,000 kinds of fungus helping it to obtain nutrients. The fungus forms a network of mycelia in the root system, and, if necessary, even extend to other trees to obtain more nutrients or water for its host tree.

But not all tree fungus are sugar-junkies on live trees. As I mentioned above, some help dead trees to decay faster. But they need nitrogen to survive, and dead trees are low in nitrogen, so they need to supplement.

The oyster mushroom is an example of this. This fungus gets its nitrogen by eating the nematodes that are also eating the dead tree. Since, like other tree mushrooms, the main part of the oyster mushroom is inside the wood, it can’t be seen.

In that rather secret place, which is full of the mycelium fibers, when a nematode encounters one of the filaments of the oyster mushroom, it is likely to be immobilized by a droplet of poison. Once immobilized, the mushroom quickly grows new filaments to the nematode so that it can be digested.

So next time you see a tree—either live or dead—you can know that even in the secret places, in the roots and under the bark of a lowly tree, the Great Creator God has a world of life, death, partnerships, and provision, that only He is in charge of.

He is in charge of the unbelievably huge creation, the universe and beyond, down to the tiniest one-cell organism, and every tiny life in between. We cannot imagine the scope of His Might, Power, and Wisdom.

As Psalm 139:6 – “Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot attain it.”

He also knows what goes on in the secret places of dark, smoke-filled rooms of far away mansions, the people who see themselves as powerful in this world system, who are taking orders from their father the devil, but God laughs at the devil’s plans:

Psalm 10:8

“He sits in the lurking places of the villages; In the secret places he murders the innocent; His eyes are secretly fixed on the helpless.

BUT……

Psalm 37:13

“The Lord laughs at him, For He sees that his day is coming.”

AT THE SAME TIME, Our Loving God and Savior also knows when your heart is breaking in grief, anxiety or fear in YOUR secret places.

Isaiah 45:3 ~ ~ “I will give you the treasures of darkness And hidden riches of secret places, That you may know that I, the Lord, Who call you by your name, Am the God of Israel.”

And He is most incomprehensibly gentle. His Great Grace, Mercy and Love are beyond our scope of reasoning, even as He told us over and over, in His Word, how much He loves His own!

Be one of His own!!!

Meditate on how much He loves You—not because of you, but because of HIM, and give Him glory in all areas of your life!!!!

He will protect and guide us, no matter what comes.
