GOD’S WORD FOR MAY 2
GOD’S WORD FOR MAY 2 ~ ~ John 14:26 ~ ~ “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”
The bride is watching for the messenger to come today. We call that, reading the Word of God, the message from our Bridegroom to us. Here he comes:
Wait! There’s a different messenger today. This one not only wrote the message, but He will help the bride to understand it!!! His name is Holy Spirit.
Because of the Resurrection, God the Father will give His Holy Spirit to believers.
Acts 2:33)Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing.
After Christ had risen and ascended, He sent the promised Holy Spirit to continue His work on earth. This means that Christ’s earthly ministry continues today through His people, in whom He dwells by the Holy Spirit. This also means that Christ will help His people by the Spirit, strengthening them, convicting them, guiding them into the life that God desires.

This is another deciding difference in true Christianity compared to the religions of the world. They all say to do this and do that, don’t do the other thing…….but there is no spiritual support to accomplish it. It is simply up to the person to accomplish it.
In true Christianity, not only is our salvation not brought about by what we do here, but, as we strive to obey Christ out of gratitude for what He has done, we have help to do even that!
The Holy Spirit brings the life that is already in the Word (the Bible) into view for us, He also helps us to understand how it applies to our own lives.
Truly, Jesus never does and never will, leave us nor forsake us, as He told us in John 14:18 when He said:
“I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.”
The Holy Spirit also will convict us of sin, and of not living up to the obedience that our salvation deserves. He is our Guide, and our Guardian.
In times of grief or sorrow, He is our Comforter. He will always turn us to Jesus, never to Himself.
But they, with the Father, are equal in the Trinity.
He helps us live out the Fruits of the Spirit…Galatians 5:22-23
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. ”
If we could express and live by every one of these perfectly in our lives, there would be no need for external laws. That’s what that last phrase is expressing. Think what a society that would be!
Well, if you have accepted Jesus’ sacrificial payment for your sins, and will live for Him, you will live forever in a world just like that!!!!!
