GOD’S WORD FOR MAY 3 ~ ~ Ps 119:160 ~ ~ “The entirety of Your Word is truth, And every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever.”
The benefit in today’s box that was just delivered is that the Resurrection proves prophecy true.
2Corinthians 1:20 ~ ~ “For all the promises of God in Him are yes, and in Him, Amen, to the glory of God through us.”
According to 1 Corinthians 15, Jesus rose from the dead as the Scriptures had previously prophesied.
Isaiah said that Jesus would be cut off from the living and then brought back to a prolonged life (Isaiah 53:8-10). Many Old Testament prophecies can only be understood now based on what we know today looking back historically.
When Jesus began to speak of His death, those around Him were caught off guard as they were looking for a Messiah who would immediately take over leadership of their nation, and free them from the tyranny of Roman rule. Even the apostles were confused, and probably even disappointed, that He wasn’t going that route.
The book of Job, Isaiah 53, and Psalm 16 are among the many examples of Old Testament Scriptures that prophesied about the resurrection of Jesus:
(Job 19:25)“For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth.”
Isaiah 53:10-12; “Yet it was the will of the LORD to crush him; he has put him to grief; when his soul makes an offering for guilt, he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days; the will of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. Out of the anguish of his soul he shall see and be satisfied; by his knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant, make many to be accounted righteous, and he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore I will divide him a portion with the many, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong, because he poured out his soul to death and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he bore the sin of many, and makes intercession for the transgressors.”
Psalm 16:10-11; “For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol,(hell) or let your holy one see corruption. You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
These prophesies, along with details about the Crucifixion, by Isaiah and in Psalms, were written more than 700 years before the time of Christ on earth. At that time, no nation had ever practiced crucifixion. They could not possibly know these details. Yet, they got every one right!
This proves the perfection of the Word of God, as well as to explain it to build the faith of unbelievers. There is no possible way the hundreds of detailed prophecies about Jesus’ birth, death, and resurrection could have been known 700 years before, and in some cases, even longer.
In our time, in the Bible, He has given us the prophecies in the Book of the Revelation, as well as the gospels. Many of these are coming true right before our eyes in our world and nation. We need to pay attention, because the time for salvation may be suddenly closed, and there will be no more chance. We are living in epic Biblical times, and our eyes should be on Him, not on this world.
He will come back. It is a prophecy given by Jesus Himself. It will come true, and by the signs we see, it cannot be long. Don’t delay your decision. Time is short, and the decision is critical.
When He comes this time, it will not be as a baby, nor as the suffering Savior. No, He will come in all His power and glory, and in severe judgment for Sin.
He is the Savior, but when people don’t take advantage of the offer, time runs out, and He goes back to His role as Judge of all!!! There will be no chance for mercy anymore then. Time will be up.
For He says: “In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in thedayofsalvation I have helped you.” Behold, now isthe accepted time; behold, now isthedayofsalvation.
God goes to great lengths to make no excuse for anyone not to believe the Word, if they are interested enough to study and search. Don’t make the mistake of not being interested!!!
Don’t put it off!!! Your eternal life depends upon it!!!
