STAND FOR TRUTH
STAND FOR TRUTH
Exodus 14:20
And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night.
In reading the above scripture, we can see how Our Lord works with us in relation to the world.
He put the pillar of smoke and fire between His people and the Egyptians but they didn’t see the same thing. Just as He puts His Holy Spirit and His Holy Word all around us, but the saved and unsaved see different things.
The unsaved see the “cloud and darkness”, but those who are devoted to their Saviour and Lord can see the light of His Wonderful Face!!!!
What will it take for those people to see the other side of the pillar of Fire? This verse makes it clear that they could not see the other side. They are blinded by the cloud. The Word says:
Isaiah 66:4
“I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.”
2 Thessalonians 2:11
“And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:”
God blinds those who choose not to listen to His Truth. They don’t hear The Word as we do. They hear it as foolishness.
In 1Corinthians 1:18, we see “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God”
So does that give them an excuse to do what they do? Should we sit back and watch their evil deeds, especially those who hold the lives of many people in their power, and wait for God to enlighten them?
The Word also says that we should bring evil deeds to light
We are commanded to hate what is evil and cling to what is good (Romans 12:9). In doing so, we must take a stand against what is evil in this world and pursue righteousness (2 Timothy 2:22). Jesus did this and, in so doing, spoke openly against the religious and political rulers of His time because they were not seeking a righteousness from God, but rather of their own making (Luke 20:1-2, Romans 9:31-33). Zeal for God’s righteousness consumed Jesus, and He was not afraid to stand up against those who opposed and dishonored His Father (John 2:15-17, see also Numbers 25:11). “Those who hate Him He will repay to their face by destruction; He will not be slow to repay to their face those who hate Him” (Deuteronomy 7:10). “While people are saying, ‘Peace and safety,’ destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape” (1 Thessalonians 5:3).
These are just a few of the verses that command us to stand for Truth and Righteousness in this world. We are to be salt and light. How can we be salt and light if we put our Light “under a bushel”, (see Matthew 5:15, Mark 4:21, Luke 11:33).
Are we to be salt and light for our peers only, and let our rulers deceive the people, with their blindness, causing blindness to spread, or be forced upon the people?
Yes, God is in control, but the one huge false teaching of many of the denominational churches have caused people to fall asleep, waiting for the coming of Christ, when He told us to stand, having our loins girt with Truth (Ephes. 6:14). The time will come in the End Times when we will have to stand through much more than these times, and if we cannot stand now for fear of man, how will we stand through much worse times coming.
We need to be always clinging to Our Lord, but not to His heals, but standing tall beside Him!!!!
