GOD’S WORD FOR AUGUST 4
“As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you;
And you will be comforted in Jerusalem.” As we remember, Jerusalem, Jacob, chosen people, and all other names for God’s chosen race, the Jewish nation, applies to the true Christian Church via the grafting in described in Romans chapter 11. All the promises to the chosen people about the love of God, we can claim through the Lordship of Jesus Christ. He is everything to us—Lord, King, brother, Father, Son, teacher, and, yes, mother. He can comfort like no one can! We thank You, Lord Jesus, for being everything to us, and we pray that those we love and pray for will come to know You in every facet of Your great love and care for us. We praise You forever. Amen
