GOD’S WORD FOR AUGUST 6

GOD’S WORD FOR AUGUST 6

Isaiah 57:15~~ “For the high and exalted One
He who inhabits eternity, Whose name is Holy says this,
“I dwell on the high and holy place,
But also with the contrite and humble in spirit
In order to revive the spirit of the humble
And to revive the heart of the contrite [overcome with sorrow for sin].”

This, in a nutshell, is salvation described in the Old Testament, as much of what the prophet Isaiah has written has to do with the New Testament yet to come. God is, of course, the High and Exalted One. His name is Holy, and it follows that no one who isn’t holy also can dwell with Him. But Jesus bridged that gap for those with a contrite and humble spirit, to instill holiness in them. Our dead spirits come to life when we accept the salvation that Christ did for us….as it says, “revive the spirit of the humble”, and show us that we need a savior. Thank You Jesus, for salvation, and we pray for those who do not yet understand, to know how much You truly love each of them. Amen
