GOD’S WORD FOR AUGUST 9 ~~ 2Corinthians 10:4-5

 “for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the casting down of strongholds); 5 casting down imaginations, and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ;” After we’re saved, and certainly before, the enemy will try to dissuade us from following Christ. He will use every argument in his little black book, and make us think it’s coming from our thoughts. Part of being a Christian is fighting off and standing against him in the power of Christ and His Word. A large part of that is keeping our thoughts in line with God’s Word. This is the area the enemy works in—our thoughts— and we have to always discern our thoughts to see if they line up with the Word of God. This is why it is imperative that we know the Word of God in the Bible and read it daily. It’s part of our armor to keep the flesh (our old selves) the devil and the world from stealing it away. Lord, please keep us strong in Your Word, and show us the areas of our life where we need to get closer to You. Help us to stay away from the things of this world that draw us away. In Jesus’ wonderful name, we ask this, knowing that He intercedes for us. Amen
