GOD’S WORD FOR AUGUST 12
GOD’S WORD FOR AUGUST 12
Psalm 27:1 “ the Lord is my light and my salvation: whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the strength of my life: Of whom shall I be afraid?” There is a lot of fear in this world today. Some of it is false fear, generated by false statements and rules, some of it is real because of the fallen world system. Some of it, is even brought about by the Will and allowance of God. No matter what we are tempted to fear, the Christian has no reason to fear. We find in 2 Timothy 1:7 that:
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” The spirit of fear is an evil spirit. It is brought to our minds by demonic forces, to take our mind off of Jesus, who is the Author and Finisher of our faith. We are to keep a sound mind, which is a mind that is focused of the Lord, and the ONLY way to do that is to spend a lot of time in the Word, in prayer, (just personal talk to God, not necessary to have anything formal) and just in spending silent time, focusing on God, what He did, what He does, and what He will do. These times are critical. Christians MUST be focused so that we see the things around us in the Light of our salvation, and in the Power of Jesus, who has already defeated the enemy. Stand on that. Do not fear.
